Kitchen Garden Programs are growing contineously amongst our Australian Primary Schools. A evolving curriculum that ebraces a healthy food culture has proven to have both positive and lasting effects on our children's overall health and development. Building Education has resulted in more than 800 schools nationally adopting the Kitchen Garden Philosophy. It is my hope as an Educator, that one day all Government Primary schools will have access to funding and facilities which facilitate meaningful overall student outcomes, through of a diverse and 'holistic curriculum'. Parkwood Green Primary School Students are fine tuning thiir culinary skills with the helpmof former Masterchef contestant Fiona Inglis (Series 2). Read more in this recent article in Melton's Local Leader Newspaper of Fiona and her students cooking up whats fresh, seasonal and tasty from the garden with 192 enthusiastic Year 4 students. Fiona is the Kitchen Garden Specialist at one of the largest schools P-6 in Victoria, Parkwood Green Primary School.
Fiona has also grasped the opportunity to share her knowledge through her first cookbook released in November 2012. The first of three, Fiona’s cookbook embraces the concept of children aged 8-13 cooking and learning through growing their own seasonal produce. Starting with the basics, The Garden Cook – Grow, Cook and Eat with Kids is an exciting extension of the everyday cooking experiences she shares through her teaching. It also emphasizes a strong connection with the garden and the way this facilitates children’s enthusiasm for the world of food.

You can also see Fiona on her own television series - Movie Bites is now being shown on Foxtel’s FMC, The Family Movie channel on Foxtel. Movie Bites is on every Saturday evening from 6:50pm before the feature movie of the week.
In harmony with her successful Kitchen Garden Program, Fiona actively contributes to a number of food festivals all over Victoria. She has recently participated in the hit television series Everyday Gourmet with Justine Schofield (seen on Channel Ten and now Foxtel). Fiona was also involved in the Warrnambool Fun4kids Festival 2011, Mirabel Foundation - Masterchef Cooking Days and The Slow Food Movement Melbourne – seen on ‘YouTube’. These events highlight Fiona’s ongoing commitment and passion for children’s food education.
Fiona will be discussing her recent cook book and also showcasing some of the recipes for friends and family of the general public.
